New proposal

Having considered long, I decided to change my final project.
The original plan seems to be a little bit drived too far from what I had looked forward to.
For now, as cooperated with my project for my foundation class, strings are the materials that interested me. To express the idea of Dissonance and Harmony, I think strings can work better than garbage, with the change of length, color and the pattern of them.
I'm thinking about hanging the strings on the top of the objects in the classroom in order of color, or hang them on the strings separately.
The shape of the strings stands for Harmony; the colors as what actually create the melodies in the world generate harmony from dissonance (different colors generate the harmony); the change of the consistency of the strings (the amount grouped more closely) represents the change between harmony and dissonance.

Trash Categories in Japan

some ideas

1) categorize the garbage
2) different sizes shapes of the wheels
3) the arrangement: to show the recycling
- crescent moon --> full moon
- the shape of the recycling symbol
4) engage the audience
- people can walk along theese wheels
- people can see the garbage inside
5) the arrangement of the garbage inside the wheels
- turn the garabage into something different
- change the shape, original texture

final proposal

In my final projext of my sculpture class, I'm going to work more on garbage recycling in art. Currently, I'm working on Tony Crogg's pieces and I did get some ideas. It is interesting to transfer the form of garbage and make them into a new thing. The process of integration and desolve apply to the idea of Dissonance and harmony. The work, as the material itself, does not change, but when viewed as an artwork, it can be a totally different thing and created to express something fresh.
My original design is made up with several wheels which are in dfferent sizes. And they are going to be filled with a variety of garbage from people's daily lives. The dissonance is expressed by the features of the wheels including the arrangement of them. At the same time, I'm going to make can create harmony by the paradox. As a three dimensional piece, I suppose it will be better to have people walk around or through them.
